Much To Do, How 'Bout Nothing?

Today is one of those days where I just have so much to do I can't seem to get started.  I have a book to finish for review tomorrow, and an entire house that has been woefully neglected over the holidays to whip in to shape before my MIL arrives.  Also tomorrow.  So naturally, I'm online writing this blog and checking facebook and twitter and email, and wasting the fifteen or twenty precious minutes I have until the baby gets tired of playing by herself and decides she needs my attention.

I tried to ration out the work over this whole week, but Monday was mostly a loss because the kids hadn't started back at school yet, and then because even though I actually managed two solid hours of cleaning, I spent them all on my shower.  Which clearly needed it, but doesn't really help with the whole presentation of my house because it is literally probably the only room house guests will never see.  Yesterday I got the rest of my bathroom clean, as well as the other two bathrooms, but my time was very limited by school attendance and errands and cooking dinner and probably quite a bit more online messing than was strictly necessary.  At least I delegated some work out and got the kids to clean up the basement - that's one thing off my list!

Which brings me to today.  I've got the entire first floor to tidy, vacuum, dust mop and clean (living room, dining room and kitchen), about two weeks of laundry to do, and 6 chapters of the book to read.  I've decided against even trying to get the kids' rooms done - hopefully I can do that while grandma is here keeping them busy.

Oh, and there's the baby, crying for me to come pick her up and entertain her.  Anyone want to take bets on how much I get done today?
