Nine Months

Nine months.

What the hell?  How is it possible she is already nine months old? And even more unbelievable - that there are only three months left until she is ONE?  Crazy.

Many people say that since it took 9 months to put the weight on it should take 9 months to take it all off, so naturally... I still weigh what I did when she was a month old.  Whoops.  Beatrice, on the other hand, is progressing beautifully - growth right on track with all the doctor's charts, and right in line with everyone else so I still have no clue if she is going to be a string bean like Isabelle or a little peanut like Sophie. How they all measure up at nine months:

Isabelle: 22lbs 1oz  29.25 inches
Jack: 23lbs 8oz  28.5 inches
Sophie: 21lbs 4oz  29 inches
Beatrice: 20lbs 9oz  28.9 inches

She is fully crawling on hands and knees, and if the past two days are any indication, she'll be pulling up to standing within a week.  She still only has the one tooth, but the second bottom tooth is SO CLOSE to being in - you can completely see it but it is still covered by the thinnest layer of gums.  Sleeps like a champ, eats like a glutton - she loves hotdog buns with cheese and blueberry applesauce and yogurt and bananas, but fish might just be her favorite. And of course desserts - she has had a little bit of cupcake and ice cream and whip cream so far, and was definitely impressed.

She has a small elephant that is her favorite toy, and she likes the little piano and stacking rings a lot, but her favorite toy is probably me.  Brett can sit on the couch and work on his computer and she will crawl all around and play.  If I sit on the couch, she crawls over to me and hangs on my leg.  If I sit on the floor, she crawls on my lap (and tries to climb me like a ladder), and if I hold her while I'm standing up then I better not ever decide to sit down because that is just the bestest ever.  She never ever stops moving, ever.  Which makes holding her all the time a challenge at best, but it is worth it for the kisses and squeezes and snuggles I can get in.  I'm no doubt creating a co-dependent monster that will bite me in the ass later, but this is my last baby and I'm not putting her down unless I absolutely have to.

Nine months old.  Still perfect.

update 3/6/13: the second tooth has broken through now, and this morning when I went to get her she was standing up in her crib. It's happening too fast!!
